Beatrice Ellen Brown was born to Daniel and Mary Grewell on a farm in Logan township, Smith County, Kans., on Nov. 23, 1905 and answered the call of her Savior on Nov. 16, 1968, at the Webster County Hospital in Red Cloud, Nebr., at the age of 62 years, 11 months and 23 days. On May 4, 1924, she was united in marriage to a neighbor boy, Freddie Brown, and they moved to his farm where he had built a new home for his bride. Here they lived until death separated them. One son, Billy was born to bless this home. Trix as she was so affectionately called by her family and friends lived a happy life, receiving her education at Oriole and Lebanon High School and then taught one year of school. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Womer, Kans., where she served in every way she could, also being active in neighborhood activities, giving of her best. Her greatest interest in life was her home and family, a more closely knit family would be hard to find. They worked together and were always seen together. Her two grandchildren, Janet Kae and Jerry Dell were her constant pride and joy. There was also a wonderful "mother-daughter" relationship that you seldom see between her and her daughter-in-law, Ardyce. It was truly a family that lived for each other. It was a year ago in May that her health commenced to fail and since then, everything that medical science and loving hands could do was done but to no avail, she quietly slipped away to her eternal rest, leaving her loved ones with this comfort that "She fought a good fight and kept the Faith." During her illness she spent a great deal of time in the hospital where she bore her suffering without complaint, endearing herself so much to those caring for her. Trix leaves to mourn her departure her husband, Freddie; son, Billy and wife, Ardyce and two grandchildren, Janet Kae and Jerry dell; five sisters, Marge Grewell of Exeter, Nebr., Maude McClure of Greeley, Colo., Ethel Upp and Edie Price of Lebanon, Ella Peterson of Boulder, Colo; and two brothers, Burl and Bert Grewell, both of Red Cloud, Nebr., other relatives and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. And Mrs. Daniel Grewell.
