Read More	Lebanon Times dated 17 December, 1992 FREDDIE BROWN: Freddie Alphonso Brown, the second of three children, was born to Delphos and Lottie Price Brown on March 5, 1900 in the Pawnee Township in Smith County, Kans. He departed this life on Sunday, December 6, 1992 at the Gala Gardens Manor in Inavale, NE, at the age of 92 years, 9 months and 1 day. Freddie attended Fairview School in Pawnee Township. As a young man he played the trombone in the Thornburg band. He was actively involved with the community, serving on the Pawnee Church and Fairview School boards. Freddie was united in marriage with Beatrice Ellen Grewell on May 4, 1924. The couple farmed in Smith County, KS. To this union was born one son, Billy who now resides in Smith Center, Kan. Freddie was a farmer until 1976 when he retired and moved to Red Cloud, (NE). Failing health forced him to spend the last several years at the Bethesda Nursing Home in Smith Center, Kan., and the Gala Gardens Retirement Home at Inavale. He loved the time spent on the farm, working with his hands and farming the land. He had persevered thru hard years of the 1930s and spent his entire life on the same farm. His greatest love and appreciation in life was for his family. He was particularly proud of and looked forward to the time spent with his grandchildren, Jerry and Janet, and his great grandchildren, Brandon, Christopher, Matthew and Jessica. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Beatrice on November 16, 1968 and two brothers , Rev. William J. Brown and Albertus Brown. Left to treasure his memory are his son and daughter-in-law, Billy and Ardis Brown of Smith Center, Kan.,, two grandchildren, Jerry Brown and Janet Brown; four great grandchildren Brandon Simmelink, Christopher Brown, Matthew Brown and Jessica Tolson; other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 9, 1992 from the Simonson-Williams funeral Home Chapel in Red Cloud with Herbert Steen officiating. Sue McNeil sang "Beyond the Sunset" and "How Great Thou Art." The casket bearers were Marvin Brown, Everett Myers, Darrell Devlin, William Devlin, Bob Peterson and Arden Peterson. Interment was in the Mt. Hope Cemetery......obituary notice.
