She grew up on her family's farm outside of Ewing, Nebraska, and graduated from Ewing High School. Read More	Sheridan County Journal Gordon, Nebraska June 4, 2003 Beatrice Grace "Mickey" Bollen Beatrice Grace "Mickey" Bollen was born October 8, 1915 in Orchard, Nebraska. She grew up on her family's farm outside of Ewing, Nebraska, and graduated from Ewing High School. As a young woman, she worked at a series of waitress jobs in O'Neill, Omaha, Ainsworth and eventually Gordon. While working at Barney's Café in Gordon she met Otto Roberts. They married in Rushville on April 16, 1940. To this union two sons were born John and Jerome. Mickey and Otto ran two restaurants in Gordon, the Bus Lunch and the Gordon Café, before opening their own business in 1953. Otto and Mickey's was a popular place to dine for over 20 years. In 1977 the business was destroyed by a tornado. Mickey and Otto semi retired but also kept busy with Western Nebraska Auction Associates. Mickey was a member of Rebecca Lodge, was an active bowler, an avid gardener and taught Sunday school for many years at First Presbyterian Church of Gordon. She was a committed Christian and her deep faith was evident as she sought the goodness in each person she met and always reached out to those in need. From 1991 to 2003, she was a resident of Countryside Care in Gordon. She was a loving wife, devoted mother, grandmother and dear friend. Her kind spirit and gentle ways will be greatly missed. Mickey was preceded in death by her husband Otto Roberts, brothers Clifford, Everett and Earl Bollen, sister Bernice Foreman, and parents Lillian and Clementine Bollen.
