She was born in Grayson County, VA July 26, 1930 to the late William Harrison Thompson and Nannie Davis Thompson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two brothers; Reeves Thompson and Greer Thompson, five sisters; Trixie Shumate, Wave Brooks, Wanda McGrady, Carrie Sexton and Blye Pugh.
