Son of Garfield Crawford and Frankie Welch OBITUARY THE CHARITON HERALD-PATRIOT Chariton, Iowa Thursday, March 12, 1942 BENJAMIN BRICE CRAWFORD Benjamin Brice Crawford, third son of Garfield and Frankie Welch Crawford, was born March 14, 1913, and passed away at his home near Norwood on March 4, 1942, at the age of 28 years, 11 months and 18 days. He was married on Sept. 28, 1932, to Berniece Shelton, of Chariton. To this union one son, Donald Leland, was born. In June, 1941, Brice accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and has remained true to his confession. He expressed his desire to meet his loved ones again in heaven. During his illness he was a patient sufferer. In spite of all that loving hands and medical skill could do, his stay on earth was short and he was claimed by his loving Savior and taken home to heaven. He was a kind and loving husband and father and will be greatly missed in the home. Surviving him are his wife and son, his parents and four brothers, Deloss, Gerald, John and Cecil, and one sister, Doris, all of Norwood; one nephew, Gary Crawford; an aged grandfather, Wm. Welch, of Chariton, and other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services, conducted by Rev. Gladys Martin, assisted by Rev. Sargent, were held at the Norwood church at 2:30 Saturday afternoon, and burial was in the Norwood cemetery. Obituary courtesy of Charles M. Wright
