Description	:	Funeral services were held at the Fenton Methodist church Thursday, afternoon for Benjamin Daniel Weisbrod who died Sunday. Rev. Harvey Walker was the officiating pastor and burial was in the Fenton cemetery by his wife. Mr. Weisbrod has been residing in Redfield, South Dakota. He suffered a stroke about two weeks ago and had been hospitalized since that time. Harvey Walker was the officiating pastor and burial was in the Fenton cemetery by his wife. Mr. Weisbrod has been residing in Redfield, South Dakota. He suffered a stroke about two weeks ago and had been hospitalized since that time. Mr. Weisbrod was born July 25, 1888, 1 1/2 miles southwest of Fenton, Iowa to Jacob and Ursula Weisbrod (their third son and sixth child). He attended the public school and high school at Fenton. December 8, 1910 he was united in marriage to Mary Marguerite Braun in Brooklyn, New York. Mrs. Weisbrod preceded her husband in death on February 13, 1957. He moved his family west to Idaho and later Oregon in the late 1920's because of his health. During World War II, he lived in New Jersey working at an arsenal there. After the war, he returned to Iowa to farm. Mr. Weisbrod farmed 1 1/2 miles south of Fenton for many years, and later near Emmetsburg before buying the farm near Redfield. Mr. Weisbrod lived with his son, Gordon, in Redfield, but carried on farming operation with the help of his sixteen-year old grandson. Survivors include three sons, Gordon at Redfield, South Dakota, Paul at Woodward, Iowa, and John Weisbrod of Trenton, Michigan. Brothers and sisters are Clarence of Ringsted, Emma (Mrs. John Light) of Fenton, Lydia (Mrs. John Ranney) of Long Beach California, Irene (Mrs. Carl Gasnett) of Kennewich, Washington. There are five surviving grandchildren. Preceding him in death, was a sister, Mary (Mrs. Kohlstedt) and two brothers, Ernest and Elmer.
