Read More	Thanks to contributor #47500106; Benjamin Franklin McBride, son of Benjamin Franklin McBride and Phebe Dufoe McBride, was born on the old homestead September 11, 1883 and departed this life on the old home farm June 8, 1950, at the age of 66 years, 8 months and 23 days. With the exception of two years in California, his whole life was spent on the home farm and he was a very successful farmer. Five years ago he retired from active farming. While living in California he met Miss Viola Stevens, whom he later married on September 4, 1918. To them one son, Wesley Wayne, was born. Mr. McBride was a kind and loving husband and father, upright, honest and well respected citizen. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge for 42 years and had served in all the offices of the lodge. He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife; son, Wesley and wife; one grandson, James Allen McBride; two brothers, William of Belgrade and Cecil of Fresno, California; two sisters, Mrs. Maud Cornwell and Mrs. Madge Randles of Boone County. Thus one by one the staunch citizens of this community are passing to their eternal reward. ----obituary Nance County Journal Ben F. McBride Dies The community was shocked and saddened Saturday afternoon, when it was learned that Ben F. McBride, 66, had died suddenly of a heart attack at his home north of town. Mr. McBride was a pioneer resident of the community, having been born on the farm on which he had lived until his death. His father, the late Benjamin F. McBride, came to Nebraska in 1873 and homesteaded the farm. He is survived by his wife; one son, Wesley; a grandson in California; two brothers, Cecil McBride of Fresno, California and Will McBride of Belgrade; two sisters, Mrs. Mark Randles and Mrs. Maud Cornwell, of Cedar Rapids. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 at the Belgrade Methodist church with burial in the Fullerton cemetery. ------------Nance County Journal
