Description	:	Bejamin Franklin "B.F." Tilton was born May 1832, in Lafayette Twp, Coshocton Co, OH, the 8th child of 14, born to Wm. (1796-1872) and Nancy Hardesty (1797-1891) Tilton. In 1843, the family moved to Ogle Co, IL. Benjamin married Rebecca Payne on 25 Dec 1861. They had the following children: Elmer E. (1863-1940) m Amanda M. Roll; Rita (1866-1947) m Philip Studt; and Mary Elizabeth "Matie" (1868-1898) m. Sam Bonebrake. This family moved to Cloud Co., KS about 1880. An 1885 plat map shows them owning 320 ac in Arion Co. An 1885 plat map shows them owning 320 ac in Arion Co. Various other relatives of this couple also migrated to Cloud Co. Rebecca died in Aug 1895, at the age of 55 yr, of heart failure, while riding in her buggy. Several census records show that B.F. lived with his daughter, Rita, and her family, for a few years. When he died 1 Aug 1918, he was buried in the Morrison Cemetery, beside his wife, Rebecca, and his daughter, "Matie" Bonebrake and her infant son. Below is his obituary: B. F. Tilton -- Another one of Glasco's early settlers has answered the last call. B.F. Tilton, who for many years was a well known and highly respected citizen of this community, died at the Masonic Home at Wichita, Tuesday (Aug 1) about noon. Mr. Tilton serttled on a farm about 12 miles northeast of Glasco in 1880, and since that time has made this community his home, until three years ago, when he went to the Masonic Home at Wichita. He is survived by two children: Elmer E. and Mrs. Reta Studt of this city, Mrs. Tilton and two children having preceded him in death. Mr. Tilton underwent an operation early in June from which he never fully recovered, and gradually lost strength from that time. He was 86 years, 2 months, 14 days. Funeral services will be held at the Elmer Tilton home in this city this afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. W.H. Robb of the Christian Church, and burial will be in the Macyville Cemetery. The Glasco Masonic Lodge, of which Mr. Tilton was a member, will have charge of the services at the grave...taken from The Glasco Sun
