Kelley received a telegram Tuesday which stated his brother Ben Kelley, 69, had died the day before in Pomeroy, Wash. He had seemed as well as usual and was mowing a neighbor's lawn, when he suffered a heart attack and died very suddenly. Mr. Kelley was born and raised in Wayne county, but had lived in Washington for many years. He had not been in Wayne county for 30 years when he attended the funeral of his father, William Kelley. The body will be sent back to Wayne county for burial, which will be on the family lot in the Rush cemetery. He was the youngest brother of Mrs. C. B. Hill, Mrs. Alice Hook, W. G. Kelley and L. C. Kelley, all of Corydon. Obituary Benjamin G. Kelley, youngest son of William and Emaline Kelley, was born in Benton township, Wayne county, Iowa, February 17, 1878 and departed this life at his home in Pomeroy, Wash., May 6, 1946, being 68 years, 2 months and 19 days old. He grew up in Wayne county, and attended the Benton Center school. After the mother died in January 1900, the home was broken up and Ben worked around in several places and finally landed in Washington in 1912, where he farmed for awhile and then quit that and located in Pomeroy, where he had made his home ever since and where he made many friends by his friendly disposition. His last visit to Iowa was when his father died in January 1916. He leaves besides his friends in Pomeroy, two brothers, L.C. and W.G. Kelley, two sisters, Mrs. Alice Hook and Mrs. C.B. Kelley, all of Corydon, Iowa, one niece and eight nephews. Funeral services were held on Sunday, May 12, at the funeral home in Corydon, conducted by Dr. F. C. Edwards. Wilbur Rider sang two songs accompanied by Mrs. Ardella Sherburne. Pall bearers were: R.L. Stoffer, C. C. Hogue, E. M. Snyder, Lee Cobel, Homer Grismore and Harold Holder. Burial was in the Rush cemetery on the family lot.
