Bernard "Bud" was born on May 20, 1937 in Pierre, SD to Paul and Anne (Bruce) Hoffman. He grew up in Pierre and graduated from Pierre High School in 1955. In 1957 Bud joined the United States Marine Corps and was honorably discharged in 1960. Bud was united in marriage to Randi Cadwell in October of 1966 and they made their home on Polk Ave. in Pierre. Bud worked for 21 years as a plumber with the Department of Building and Grounds for the State of South Dakota retiring in 1999. He was a member of the Pierre Fire Department and the Marine Corps League. Bud enjoyed his family, many friends, traveling, hunting, camping, biking and car racing. Bud is survived by his son Mark (Shauna) Hoffman of Sioux Falls, SD; three daughters: Lynne (Gary) Graham of Calera, AL, Charlene (John) Oscarson, Altadena, CA and Barbara (Jim) Drozky, Plainfield, WI; four brothers: Paul (Donna) Hoffman, Gene (Joan) Hoffman, Don (Marilyn) Hoffman and Larry (Betty) Hoffman; two sisters: Judy Shaw and Patty (Davis) Quenzer; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife Randi in 2002; his parents Paul and Anne Hoffman and his in-laws Clarence and Neva Cadwell.
