Description	:	Bernhard was the son of Bernhard and Catharine (Schulz) Bergmann. The GRANDMA files say Bernhard's mother was Catharine Schulz born 29 Sep 1823 (unknown date of death). She was the daughter of Aron Schulz and Catharina Peters. They also list a brother of Catharine, Isaac Schulz 1819-1895 who married an Elisabeth Reimer. Below is a copy of a footnote in Bernhard's file some of which I understand and some of which I do not. Beatrice record book p. B-2: "Joined April 20, 1893". Baptized by Abr. Esau. p. Obiges Ehepaar der hiesigen M. Gemeinde beigetreten 1893. April 20." (translates: 'The above couple joined the local M community in 1893. April 20') It seems that Bernhard joined the Mennonite Church April 20, 1893, being baptized by Abraham Esau.
