Description	:	ACCIDENT PROVED FATAL Bert Coy died in the St. Joseph Hospital in Omaha shortly after 5 o’clock Monday evening. Mr. Coy met with the peculiar accident which caused his death, just three weeks ago today. He was an expert poultry dresser for the Omaha Cold Storage Company and while at his work was holding a bird in each hand. Read More	ACCIDENT PROVED FATAL Bert Coy died in the St. Joseph Hospital in Omaha shortly after 5 o’clock Monday evening. Mr. Coy met with the peculiar accident which caused his death, just three weeks ago today. He was an expert poultry dresser for the Omaha Cold Storage Company and while at his work was holding a bird in each hand. With the one in the right hand he also held his knife, an ordinary shoe knife, dressed down very keenly and to a sharp point and as the birds began to flutter, he thoughtlessly place the one in his right hand with the knife, between his legs to hold it. As he brought his legs together, the knife blade penetrated his left leg to the bone, severing three arteries and otherwise mutlilating his limb. As a result blood poison and gangrene permeated the limb, finally producing death. Deceased was born December 5, 1875 and was 27 years, 11 months, and 4 days of age at the time of his death. He was born in Tazewell County, Illinois, came with his parents to Taylor County, Iowa, in 1876, and to this city in 1882, where he had since lived up to the time of going to Omaha last March. He leaves a wife and one child to mourn his demise. Aside from these are four brothers, Frank of Omaha, Ed of Cooley, Oklahoma, W. M. and L. D. of this city, and two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Sage of Clarinda, and Mrs. Carrie Masterson of Omaha. All were present upon the funeral services with the exception of Ed. The body was brought to this place Tuesday evening. The funeral services were from the M. E. Church at 2 o’clock Wednesday afternoon, Rev. C. J. English officiating. Interment being in the Villisca Cemetery. The wife is undecided as yet as to where she will make her home, but will remain here for awhile. She and her child are the recipients of the sympathy of all their friends in this hour of grief caused by the loss of a faithful husband and father.
