Funeral services were held at 9 a.m. Monday at the Hingham Catholic church. Mrs. Bertha Kocar was born April 9, 1859, in Czechoslovakia, daughter of John and Kate (Toman) Jari. She was married in 1879, 60 years ago last February, to Joe Kocar. She and her husband came to the United States in 1895, settling in Medford, Wisconsin. They came to Hingham on October 23, 1930, and have since made their home with their son Jerry, north of Hingham. She was a member of the Hingham Catholic church. Surviving her are her husband, Joe Kocar; five sons, Frank, Joe, Jerry, Louis, Emil, all of Hingham; two daughters, Mrs. Frank (Anna) Chinadle, Hingham ; and Mrs. Joe Barta, Buffalo, Montana; two brothers Joe and Jacob Jari of Medford, Wisconsin; 21 grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. Another daughter, Mrs. Bertha Sekadlo, died nine years ago at Rib Lake, Wisconsin, at almost the same hour and day as that on which her mother passed.
