Description	:	NOTE: Bertha lived for 18 years under the name Richardson, her second husband's, yet she is buried with her first husband. Mrs. R.F. Richardson, who was taken suddenly ill some two weeks ago, passed away at the family home north of Eagleville Thursday evening at 7 o'clock. Although not altogether unexpected, her death came as a distinct shock to the entire community, and sadness is expressed on every hand at her going. Read More	NOTE: Bertha lived for 18 years under the name Richardson, her second husband's, yet she is buried with her first husband. Mrs. R.F. Richardson, who was taken suddenly ill some two weeks ago, passed away at the family home north of Eagleville Thursday evening at 7 o'clock. Although not altogether unexpected, her death came as a distinct shock to the entire community, and sadness is expressed on every hand at her going. Bertha came with her young husband, Walter McFarland, to North Harrison in the year 1895 establishing a home 1 1/2 miles south of the state line where their four children were born, one died in infancy while the other three, Flo, Zatha, and Wayne lived to know the comforts of a wonderful home and devoted parents. Sadness entered this home April 2, 1919[1918] and the father was taken from them, then in a few months Flo joined him in the world beyond. On January 4, 1922, Bertha united in marriage to a neighbor R. F. Richardson, and for almost 18 years made for him a happy home always welcoming his children, Clair, Earl, and Ruth in the home as well as her own. She was 66 years, 5 months, and 6 days of age and besides the two children, Wayne and Zatha (Mrs. Joseph Outhouse) of Lamoni, is survived by nine grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday at 2 p. m. from the M E church of Eagleville conducted by Rev. L. R. Purvis. pastor of Otterbein where she had held her membership for many years. The following selections were beautifully rendered "It Is Well With My Soul"; "Lay Me Gently Down"; and "Where We Will Never Grow Old". The singers were members of her church, Mr. and Mrs. Ferris Turner, Miss Gertrude Stanley, and C.V. Anderson. Mrs. Ethel Cook, president of the W. C. T. U. of which the deceased was a member, presided at the piano. Pallbearers were James Williams, John Leeper, Chas. Harry, John Hart, and William McNelly. Interment was in Rose Hill cemetery by the side of the husband of her youth. Sympathy is extended the sorrowing ones.
