Mrs. Quincy Dunn was organist with the selection being “Beautiful Isle of Somewhere.” Casket bearers were Quincy Dunn, Yale Wright, David Sholcen, Joe Lines, Collis Moore, and Lee Means. Interment was in the Villisca Cemetery with arrangements by Wolfe Funeral Home. Bertha King was born December 6, 1894 in Nodaway, Iowa. She was the daughter of Daniel and Luisa Roberts Brown. She passed away Saturday, November 9, 1974 at the Good Samaritan Home in Villisca. Bertha was united in marriage to William Rachel, who preceded her in death in the early 40’s. On October 10, 1959 she was married to Frank King in Maryville, Missouri. Bertha lived a great part of her life in Des Moines, where she worked as secretary in the Capital Building and for insurance companies in the city. Bertha was a member of the Eastern Star. She was also a faithful member of the United Presbyterian Church, which she served as financial secretary until she was afflicted by a stroke that left her bedridden about 2 1/2 years until her death. She was preceded in death by her first husband, William Rachel, her parents, and three brothers. She is survived by her husband, Frank King of Villisca, one brother, Elmer Brown of Florida, one sister, Mrs. Ethel Means of Villisca, many nieces and nephew and many great nieces and nephews and by other relatives and friends.
