Description	:	Funeral services for Bessie Belt were held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, February 26, at the Nelson-Boylan Funeral Chapel in Red Oak. She died on Saturday, February 23, 1991, following an extended illness at the Villisca Good Samaritan Center, at the age of 89. Born and raised in Malvern, she was the daughter of Dawson and Alice Goodman. In 1918, she was married to Carl Weseen, who preceded her in death in 1942. Read More	Funeral services for Bessie Belt were held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, February 26, at the Nelson-Boylan Funeral Chapel in Red Oak. She died on Saturday, February 23, 1991, following an extended illness at the Villisca Good Samaritan Center, at the age of 89. Born and raised in Malvern, she was the daughter of Dawson and Alice Goodman. In 1918, she was married to Carl Weseen, who preceded her in death in 1942. Later she was married to Fenton Belt, who also preceded her in death. She had lived in Council Bluffs for 30 years before moving to Villisca where she lived for many years before moving to Red Oak in 1975. She worked at the Blue Star Food in Council Bluffs for many years and also had worked as a school cafeteria cook. She was a member of the Advent Christian Church in Villisca. Officiating at the funeral services was the Rev. Al Hutchings, pastor of the Villisca Advent Christian Church. Interment was at the East Liberty Cemetery. Survivors include six daughters, Dorothy Barman, Villisca, Bernice Nease, Red Oak, Geraldine Ganley, New Market, Betty Damewood, Council Bluffs, Charlene White, Glenwood, Shriley Allstadt, Burwell, Nebraska, a son, Jack Weseen, Council Bluffs; a sister, Mrs. Mary Stewart, Green Valley, Arizona; 22 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
