Description	:	Geraldine Marie Ganley was born on January 11, 1923 in Guss a daughter to Carl and Bessie (Goodman) Weseen. The younger years of her Life were spent on a farm in rural Red Oak where she lived until the Depression when they moved to Coburg. Later the family moved to Stanton where Gerry was confirmed at the Lutheran Church there in 1937. She finished her last years of High School in Villisca graduating with the class of 1940. Read More	Geraldine Marie Ganley was born on January 11, 1923 in Guss a daughter to Carl and Bessie (Goodman) Weseen. The younger years of her Life were spent on a farm in rural Red Oak where she lived until the Depression when they moved to Coburg. Later the family moved to Stanton where Gerry was confirmed at the Lutheran Church there in 1937. She finished her last years of High School in Villisca graduating with the class of 1940. In 1941 Gerry married Max Clayton in Council Bluffs and was blessed with one son. She returned to the Red Oak area and worked at Eveready until 1955 and in 1957 was divorced from Max. On February 22, 1959 Gerry married the late H.E. "Pete" Ganley and they were blessed with another son in 1960. Together with Pete's four children they made a family of eight. Gerry also worked for 21 years at the Clarinda Company retiring from there in 1987. In her retirement she enjoyed canning and spending time with her grandchildren. Gerry also enjoyed hosting and preparing Sunday dinners for the family. When Gerry was 16 years old she traveled with a show group riding a trick Arabian horse. It was a highlight of her life when she was younger. Gerry passed away on Thursday October 16, at the age of 91 in Clarinda at the Eiler House. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Pete, sisters Dorothy Branan, Bernice Nease and Betty Damewood, brother-in-law Gail White, step daughter Laura Skidmore and grandson Travis Clayton. Survivors include 5 children and spouses, 8 grandchildren, 2 sisters and spouses, one brother and spouse, extended family of nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services for Gerry were held 1:30PM Sunday October 19, at Walker-Merrick Funeral Home in Clarinda with visitation scheduled at 1PM. Burial followed the service in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Guss. Memorials are suggested to the New Market Fire Department. Clarinda Herald-Journal October 20, 2014 .
