She was born August 5, 1885, in Jefferson county, the daughter of Harrison and Sutton Hutton Oliver, and had spent most of her life in Jefferson and Van Buren counties. She moved to Eldon in 1948. She was married in 1907 to James W. Tweedy, who died in 1958. She was a Methodist and a member of the Royal Neighbors lodge. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Myrtle E. Metcalf of Burlington, Mrs. Edith I. Edgerly of Floris and Mrs. Velma I. Brazille of Fort Worth, Tex.; a son Ernest of Des Moines; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. There are six sisters, Mrs. Irene Pearson of Batavia, Mrs. Nora Rogers, Mrs. Mabel Brown and Mrs. Verne Thomas of Eldon, Mrs. Josephine DeVault of Libertyville and Mrs. Margaret Palmer of Nevada, Mo.; and a brother, Francis A. Oliver of Lawrenceville, Ill. A daughter, a brother and two sisters preceded her in death. The funeral is tentatively planned for Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Campbell funeral chapel in Eldon. The Rev. Marie Harrington of Ottumwa will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Moriah cemetery near Douds. Source: Van Buren Co.
