Read More	RHODA, BESSIE RUE—Bessie Rue Mullikin, daughter of John and Hellen Mullikin, was born August 6, 1876, in Chelsea township, Fillmore county, Nebraska. She passed away at her home in almost the same location Wednesday, October 31, 1951, at the age of 75 years, 2 months and 25 days. December 14 1893, she was united in marriage to William Rhoda and to this union were born four children, three daughters, and one son. The son died in infancy. In December, 1943, Mr. and Mrs. Rhoda celebrated in their home their fiftieth wedding anniversary. Mr. Rhoda passed away September 16, 1947. Mrs. Rhoda was the type of woman characteristic of her generation, who learned out of the grim experiences of life that patience, faith, charity and understanding were the virtues which make for noble womanhood, motherhood and Christian grace. These she embraced, and the impact of them was felt in the home, the community, and the church. She loved all within these bounds, and that so dearly that she would not burden others with those things which were anxiety burden or care for her. She bore them within herself and her Master. She was baptized and united with the Chelsea Evangelical United Brethren church in May, 1948, and since that time had been a regular attendant at its worship service and ministry. Her last illness was of short duration. She became ill last October 9 and emergency surgery was performed October 12, from which she seemed to be satisfactorily recovering. The summons came very suddenly Wednesday morning, October 31, and the witness she left to her loved ones was that she was ready to go; thus, "He giveth His beloved sleep." She leaves to mourn her passing the three daughters, Lillie C., at home, S. Helen Lewis of Denver, Col., and Mrs. Ernest (Edna) Eich of Geneva. There are four grandchildren, Lowell Eich of Geneva, William and Robert Jene Eich of Fairmont, and Rhoda Pearl Rhodes of Exeter. There are three great-grandchildren, who were a source of great delight and pride to their great-grandmother. One sister survives, also three brothers. They are Mrs. Ida Mitchell of Chester, Burke Mullikin of Lewiston, Ida., Dr. D. B. Mullikin of Chester and Owen Mullikin of McMinnville, Ore.
