She was born Dec. 29, 1924, in Lawrence, the daughter of John and Bessie Edgar. She graduated from Liberty Memorial High School.
Mrs. Stanwix was a crossing guard near Pinckney School for many years, and later worked in the Lawrence High School cafeteria for 18 years. She enjoyed camping with her husband.
She married Clayton C. Stanwix on Nov. 24, 1944, in Lawrence. He died July 7, 1986.
