Description	:	BETTY SIMMONS - Tuesday - July 19, 2005 Chelan - Betty Simmons passed through the shadow of death into God's embracing arms on July 15, 2005. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family after a short battle with cancer. Betty was born on July 14, 1930, to Frank and Muriel Linn at Omak, WA. Read More	BETTY SIMMONS - Tuesday - July 19, 2005 Chelan - Betty Simmons passed through the shadow of death into God's embracing arms on July 15, 2005. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family after a short battle with cancer. Betty was born on July 14, 1930, to Frank and Muriel Linn at Omak, WA. Betty was the youngest of 4 children and attended grade school at Azwell, WA in a one-room schoolhouse before moving to Chelan in 1939. She met and married Allan W. Simmons on August 29, 1946. They were married in a ceremony in Auburn, WA, returning to Chelan to live. On January 11, 1954, they became the proud parents of a daughter, Debra K. Simmons, and later were blessed with a son, Michael A. Simmons on April 28, 1957. Through her life she worked in the apple industry at the Wenoka and Trout packing sheds, while raising her family and helping her husband start their own orchard business. She later worked as a front desk receptionist at the Apple Inn Motel until her retirement. She then stayed home and enjoyed her grandchildren, always good for a quick hug and a snack for hungry, thirsty boys. She is deeply loved and will be sorely missed by our family. She was our strength, a shelter in the time of storm, our constant help, love and, last but not certainly not least, besides being mom, she was herdaughter's best friend. She always put herself last and cared for everybody else first. Betty was a member of the Chelan Church of the Nazarene and enjoyed the activities and fellowship with its members. Survivors include her husband, Allan Simmons of the home; their children, Mike Simmons and wife Debbie and 3 sons, Allan, Dillion and Phillip of Chelan, daughter Debbie (Simmons) Banks and husband Howard and son, Michael, also of Chelan; brother, Robert Linn of Wenatchee; 2 sisters, Norma Perry and Mary Agan, both of Chelan. She preceeded in death by both parents. Graveside Services will be held at the Chelan Fraternal Cemetery on Tuesday, July 19, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to the Lake Chelan Valley EMS Department. Arrangements are being handled through Precht Rose Chapel, Chelan.
