She spent the early part of her life on her father's homestead, completing her eight grade education at Pleasant Hill. Read More	The Creighton News -1942 Mrs. Emil Gross Blanche Foreman was born to Mr. and Mrs. Ira Foreman on April 17, 1893, at Walnut, Nebraska, and departed this life at Alamo, Texas on June 6, 1942 at the age of 49 years, 1 month, and 20 days. She spent the early part of her life on her father's homestead, completing her eight grade education at Pleasant Hill. Later she attended Creighton High school and Wayne Normal college, after which she taught various schools in Knox and Antelope counties. She was married to Emil Gross on April 30, 1913. To this union two children were born; Helen now Mrs. Roger E. Lewis of El Paso, Texas and Vernon of Houston Texas. For several years they lived on the Frank Gross homestead southwest of Verdigre. Later they moved into town, where both Mr. and Mrs. Gross were very active in the community affairs. In 1930 they left Verdigre for Alamo, Texas, where she was residing at the time of her death. She was a member of the Alamo Community Church having going shortly after moving to Texas. She was also a member of the Eastern Star of Niobrara for years Mrs. Gross, or Blanche as she was known, was of a cheerful and helpful disposition. She will be greatly missed by her neighbors friends and relatives. Though handicapped by being partially paralyzed from a stroke suffered eight years ago yet she kept up her sonny disposition and was always administering to welfare and happiness of her family. Through faith in our Lord and prayer her strength and courage was obtained. She was preceded in death by two brothers Wesley dying in infantry and Floyd do passed away in 1926. Her mother died in 1935. She leaves to mourn her passing her husband Emil, her two children, two grandchildren, aged father Ira Foreman of Venus; one sister Mrs. Leta Brookhauser of Orchard; four brothers, Jay and Claude of Creighton, Joe of Venus and Marcelous of Niobrara; an aunt Mrs. Harvey Montgomery, Creighton and aunt uncle T. A. Butterfield, Orchard. Also numerous other relatives and a host of friend. Yes we will miss your mother dear, Your cheery smile your soft gray hair, And memories of you will hold most dear, But we know you are happy with Him forever. Funeral services were held at Mc Allen Texas, by her minister Reverend M. A. Travis after which her body was brought to the Nebraska for burial, arriving in Creighton, Thursday morning. The last rites were conducted from the Venus church, Thursday June 11, at 2 o'clock p.m., with Reverend Basil Anderson of Creighton officiating. In internment was made at the Enterprise Cemetery. *************** Cards of Thanks We wish to take this means of thanking the friends, relatives and the Eastern Star for the assistance and sympathy extended to us during the burial of our loved one.
