Marcelous, the youngest son of Ira C. and Estella (Butterfield) Foreman was born April 21, 1899, at the family homestead near Walnut Grove, where he attended the rural Pleasant Hill School. He married Bernice Bollen of Orchard and four children were born to this union. They farmed in the Venus community, later moving to Niobrara and Beatrice. His wife Bernice, died at Beatrice in 1958. Marcelous, the youngest son of Ira C. and Estella (Butterfield) Foreman was born April 21, 1899, at the family homestead near Walnut Grove, where he attended the rural Pleasant Hill School. He married Bernice Bollen of Orchard and four children were born to this union. They farmed in the Venus community, later moving to Niobrara and Beatrice. His wife Bernice, died at Beatrice in 1958. In 1961, Marcelous married Anna E. Olson of Sidney. Anna passed away January 23, 1983. Both had been residents of the Sidney Memorial Rest Home since May 1982. Most of their married life was spent at Sidney where they farmed, with a few years at Niobrara and Center, and several winters in Arizona. Mr. Foreman kept busy with carpentry, painting, and always having a garden. Surviving their father are daughters: Mrs. Eleanor Pickard of Seattle, Wash., and Loretta of Seattle, Wash., and Loretta (Mrs. Sam Sigismonte) of Baldwin Park, Calif.; also six grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Dale in 1927, at age six, and daughter Evelyn (Mrs. Eddie Stubben) of Niobrara in 1968, and both wives, Bernice and Anna. Also preceding him in death were his parents, five brothers: Jay, Wesley, Claude, Floyd, and Joe, and two sisters: Leta Brookhouser and Blanch Gross. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon. October 18, at the Gehrig Funeral Chapel, Sidney, with Rev. Gerald Brestel of the Bethel Bible Church officiating. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery, Sidney, NE. Relatives attending the services from Creighton were Mrs. Lola Green, Mr. and Mrs. Reg Green and daughter. Megan.
