Description	:	Bruce A. Blum, age 49, of Carroll, Iowa, formerly of Wall Lake, passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2006, at St. Anthony's Hospital in Carroll. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, March 20th, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Wall Lake. Burial will be at the Wall Lake Cemetery under the direction of the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home. Blum, age 49, of Carroll, Iowa, formerly of Wall Lake, passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2006, at St. Anthony's Hospital in Carroll. Bruce was born on January 11, 1957, in Carroll, Iowa, the son of Francis J. and Roma Jean (Rohde) Blum. He attended Wall Lake High School through the eleventh grade. After the onset of his illness, Bruce went to Twilight Acres Nursing Home in Wall Lake in the late 70's. After the death of his father in April of 1983, he transferred to Courage Home in Sioux City for more therapy and from there to New Hope Village in Carroll for the past 18 years. Bruce loved music, watching football on television, especially the Raiders, and joking with the nurses. Survivors is include his brothers: Michael Blum and wife Sara of Storm Lake, IA, Eugene Blum and wife Stephanie of New Port Richey, FL, and Daniel Blum and wife Mary Beth of Wall Lake; and his sisters: Brenda Kropf and husband Jim of Wall Lake, Rebecca Lockhart and husband Tom of Sidney, IA, and Kristi Scott and husband Jeff of Odebolt, IA. Other survivors include his uncles and aunts: Wilbert Rohde and wife Cecelia of Wall Lake, Duane Rohde and wife Ardel of Lake View, Marvin Rhode and wife Helen of Lake View, Dorothy Subbert of Carroll, Wally Carstensen and wife Bernetta of Odebolt, Richard "Doc" Blum and wife Maria of Wall Lake, Bill Blum and wife Betty of Wall Lake, Mary Schroeder of Wall Lake, Lois Ann Cave and husband James of Colorado, Joanell Koster and husband Leroy of Breda, IA, and Mrs. Robert Blum of Alabama; 15 nieces and nephews; and one great-niece. Bruce was preceded in death by his mother, Roma Jean Blum in 1977; father, Francis Blum in 1983; grandparents; and niece, Allison Kropf.
