He was born May 16, 1931 in Glasco, KS to Ira and Minnie (Darrow) Studt. Burton married Ida Grace Adkins on March 7, 1949. Burt was a graduate of Glasco High School. Studt (May 16, 1931 - February 26, 2018) Burton Phillip Studt, age 86, passed away February 26, 2018 at The Nicol Home, Glasco, KS. He was born May 16, 1931 in Glasco, KS to Ira and Minnie (Darrow) Studt. Burton married Ida Grace Adkins on March 7, 1949. Burt was a graduate of Glasco High School. He farmed and worked in the trucking industry, driving a dump truck at age 14. Burt drove for Studt Truck Lines, which was owned and operated by his parents, and for Ideal Truck Line. In 1964 Burt began a 30 year career with Consolidated Freightways in Kansas City, driving to the West coast, logging more than 1 million accident free miles. He was promoted to Safety Supervisor in 1972 and worked for CF until he retired when he and Ida moved back to Glasco. Burt was a former member of the Moose Lodge of Concordia. Burt and Ida enjoyed dancing at the Moose Lodge and the Bohemian Hall in Glasco. He enjoyed spending time in their motorhome with trips to Alaska, Nashville, TN and the West coast, along with yearly visits to the Kansas State Fair and spending the winter months in Yuma, AZ. Burton is survived by his wife, Ida; children, Annette Ravens (George), O'Fallon, MO and Kent Studt (Jo Herian), Glasco; grandchildren, Joni Porter (Matt) and Jeanette Thompson (Andy); great granddaughter, Idalynn Muriel Porter; all of O'Fallon, MO; step-grandchildren, Tiffany Bates (Brad), Tony Ravens (Theresa) and Chris Ravens; step- great granddaughter, Sabrina Bates. He was preceded in death by their daughter, Carolyn Jeanette, his parents and brother, Howard Studt. Graveside services will be 10:30 am, Fri., March 2, 2018 at the Glasco Cemetery, Glasco with Pastor Michele McHenry officiating. Visitation will be Thurs., March 1, 2018 from 1-7 pm with the family greeting friends from 5-7 pm at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Bohemian Hall Preservation Fund or Meadowlark Hospice of Clay Center in care of the funeral home.
