Mr. DeRusseau was born May 13, 1931, at rural Clyde. He was a veteran of the Air Force. He taught at St. John's Military School, Salina; the Chapman school system; in 1968 moved to Clyde and taught at Clifton and then for the Clifton-Clyde School System, retiring in 1993. Read More	Salina Journal – Apr. 11, 1997 Rex DeRusseau CLYDE — Rex DeRusseau, 65, Clyde, died Wednesday, April 9, 1997, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center, Wichita. Mr. DeRusseau was born May 13, 1931, at rural Clyde. He was a veteran of the Air Force. He taught at St. John's Military School, Salina; the Chapman school system; in 1968 moved to Clyde and taught at Clifton and then for the Clifton-Clyde School System, retiring in 1993. He was a member of the United Methodist Church and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7515, both of Clyde, and Phi K. Fraternity at Kansas State University and a former member of the Moose Lodge and Elks Lodge, both of Concordia. Survivors include his wife, Sonia of Clyde; a son, Marc of Clyde; a daughter, Julie Slater of Salina; and three grandchildren. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Clyde United Methodist Church, the Rev. C. Milton Lenz officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Clyde. Memorials may be made to Randolph-Decker Library, the church or the burn unit at Via Christi-St. Francis Campus, Wichita. The casket will remain closed. Visitation will be after 1 p.m. Friday at the Chaput Mortuary, 310 Washington, Clyde 66938.
