| Description | : | Captain Fenton Hartman Shankle 1977 Bridgewater Bulletin Captain Fenton Hartman Shankle, 82, passed away peacefully at F.M. Hospital on August 23, 1977, after a brief illness. He was born in Middle LaHave, the son of the late James and Janetta (Wilkie) Shankle. "Uncle Fenton", as he was affectionately called, was one of the oldest members of the community. Surviving are a daughter, Irene (Mrs. John Campbell), Port Severn, Ontario; two sisters, Mamie (Mrs. LeRoy Shankle), Middle LaHave; Grace (Mrs. Moyle Lohnes), West LaHave; three brothers, Ray and Arthur, both of Massachusetts; Stephen, Kingsburg; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
