Read More	Annapolis Spectator, Thursday, April 16, 1931 Capt Samuel W Mills, an old and respected citizen of Granville Ferry, and a man very well known to many people for miles around because of his long connection with the ferry service between Annapolis Royal and Granville Ferry, died at his home Friday morning, April 10. He was born at Granville Ferry 78 years ago and was the son of David and Mary (Halfyard) Mills of whose large family there are now only 3 living members: Alfred Mills of Granville Beach and Mrs John Bent and Miss Rhoda Mills. Capt Mills was for 34 years connected with the ferry service. During that time he saved 9 persons from drowning and he was ever faithful and obliging in his connection with the ferry service. He was tenderly cared for during his illness by his wife and grandson, Arnold Silverman. The son and daughter living near by, Carmen Mills of Bridgetown and Mrs Austin of Upper Granville, have been very frequent visitors of their father during his illness. Last December, Mr and Mrs Mills had their 51st wedding anniversary. Mrs Mills, before her marriage, was Miss Emma Young, daughter of Mr and Mrs WH Young of Belleisle, and their 5 daughters and 1 son, survive him: (Sadie) Mrs Clarke Cooke, West Roxbury, Mass.; (Helen) Mrs Inglis Austin, Upper Granville; (Winnie) Mrs Silverman, Roslindale, Mass., the son, Carmen Mills, Bridgetown; (Muriel) Mrs Elmer Banks, West Roxbury; (Eva) Mrs Ralph Ritchie, Medford, Mass.; The funeral was conducted at the home on Monday afternoon by Rev CW Neish, Anglican Church, assisted by Rev GT Bryant of the United Church. Interment was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Annapolis Royal.
