He married Mary Ann Rousseau at Elm Grove, Iowa, Feb. 26, 1862. Thomas Jefferson Anderson served in the Civil War Aug. 9, 1862 to Dec. 2, 1864. He was a First Lieutenant in Company A, 40th Iowa Infantry when he enlisted and was a Captain when he was released.
