Read More	The following provided by Find A Grave contributor "Cara": The River Press, Fort Benton, Mont., 29 July 1959 Former Resident is Killed in Accident Carl Donald "Buck" MacKenzie, 34, former Benton resident and well known here, was killed in an automobile accident Thursday night near Spencer, Idaho, near the Montana border. Officers said that he apparently lost control of his car on a curve and the vehicle rolled over twice. He was accompanied by two other men, neither of whom were seriously injured, being only hospitalized for a short time and able to attend the funeral at Dell on Monday. At the time of the accident he was working at the Pascal Bimat ranch at Dell. He was operating the ranch of his late father. This is the fifth tragic death in the family. A brother, Halden E. "Tom" MacKenzie was killed Dec. 2, 1947, just south of Dell when the truck he was driving overturned. A sister was killed in a car accident, one burned and one scalded to death while the MacKenzie family were residents of Fort Benton. A brother, James A., died here July 29, 1950. Carl Donald MacKenzie was born in Fort Benton, Dec. 6, 1924, but moved with his parents to Dell when about nine years old. He had since lived in that area, except for service in the air force in World War II, in the European theater. The father died in 1955. In addition to attending school in Fort Benton and Dell, he attended an auctioneering school at Decatur, Illinois, receiving his diploma. He was always interested in livestock and as a youngster rode many horses at the Chouteau county fair. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at Dillon, with the Rev. Paul Denny of the Lima community church, officiating. Graveside services were held at Riverside cemetery this Wednesday at 2 p.m., with military rites at the graveside. Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Ann MacKenzie of Missoula, and three sisters, Mrs. Agnes Gilbert, Spokane; Mrs. Betty Iverson of Missoula; and Mrs. Joan Bramlette of Lima; a number of nieces and nephews and many friends here. The family has the sympathy of all in their tragic loss.
