CARL HENRY BREDEMEIER was born December 23, 1872 at Steinauer, Nebraska and died March 26, 1953 at his farm ten miles north of Seneca , Kansas. This farm had been his home for 58 years, and he had lived in Kansas for some 76 years, and he had lived in Kansas for some 76 of his eighty years. He had never married. He is survived by a first cousin, Mrs. Caroline Koester of DuBois, Nebraska, and by several more distant relatives, including these nieces and nephews: Mrs. Viola Kunstman of Atchison, Kan., David Cope of Atchison, Mrs. Helen Neu of Denton, Kan. Dorald Cope of Topeka, and Mrs. Fay Barker of Greenleaf, Kan. He was a kindly and friendly man, leading a simple Christian life, and liked by everyone. He was always ready to help and would let his own work go to help others. He had long been a member of Friedens Evangelical and Reformed Church, and numerous persons have recounted since his death of his kindly help to them and the church. Je donated much labor to the building of the parsonage. Through the years, assisting families in their sorrows, he had prepared many of the graves in the adjoining churchyard, perhaps more than any other person. His life span, extending back almost to pioneer times, covered years of hard times and necessary thrift. He was a hard worker and his habits of hard work remained with him to the end. He liked children and they liked him. He found special pleasure in the Christmas programs of the church. Services were arranged by the Thornberg Funeral Home of Seneca and were held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 at the Friedens church wouth of DuBois with burial at the Friedens cemetery. The minister was Rev. Carl Lee of the Pleasant Valley United Brethren church. The singers were Carl Rohlmeier, Lawrence Meier, David Rinne and Clifford Boehmer with Mrs. David Rinne as organist. Pallbearers were John Wissler, C. R. Katz, Henry Jauken, Willis Beyreis, Frank Marteney and Henry Tegtmeier, Jr. LOSES HIS LIFE IN FIRE BODY IN HOME RUINS C. H. BREDEMEIER Was 80, Lived Alone on Farm North of Seneca.
