Mr. Tordrup died on Sunday, April 5, 1970 at the Nuckolls County Hospital after a lengthy illness. Mr. Tordrup was born Sept. 10, 1915 on a farm south of Ruskin, Nebraska to Dagmar and Christen P. Tordrup. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith during his youth. Serving in World War II, he was in the army signal corp in the Pacific theatre of operations. He was a member of VFW Post No. 3355, the American Legion and the Eagles Lodge. He was united in marriage to Marcelene Shaw on Dec 23, 1949. To this union twin sons were born, Gary Dean and Larry Gene. Larry Gene lived only a week. One brother, Gilbert also preceded him in death. Surviving are his wife, Marcelene; his son Gary Dean; his parents, Mr and Mrs Chris Tordrup of Superior; two brothers, Andrew of Compton, California and August of Kenosha,Wisc.; three sisters, Ella Madison of Lakewood, Colo., Ina Fairless of Moses Lake, Wash., and Margaret Ann Hanson of Superior; and numerous friends and relatives. Rev. Albert J. Kleinsasser officiated and burial and military rites were at Evergreen cemetery.
