Description	:	Carla L. Peters, 90, of St. Paul, formerly of Loup City, died Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2017, at Brookefield Park in St. Paul, surrounded by her family. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Josaphat's Catholic Church in Loup City. The Rev. Richard L. Piontkowski will celebrate the Mass. Peters, 90, of St. Paul, formerly of Loup City, died Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2017, at Brookefield Park in St. Paul, surrounded by her family. Carla was born on June 24, 1927, on a farm east of Ashton, the daughter of Stanley and Hedy (Jakubowski) Wroblewski. She received her education at St. Francis Parochial School and graduated from Ashton High School. She was united in marriage to Hendrick B. “Hank” Peters on Sept. 30, 1948 at Loup City. The couple lived in Loup City where they owned and operated “Hank's Bar” and she worked as a librarian at Loup City Public Schools. Hank died on May 6, 1999, and she continued to live in Loup City. In 2015, she moved to St. Paul where she resided at Matelyn Retirement Community the rest of her life. She was a member of St. Josaphat's Catholic Church and its Council of Catholic Women. She also taught CCD classes for 7 years and was a Eucharistic Minister to the home bound for 9 years. Carla enjoyed sewing, crossword puzzles, crocheting and Husker football and volleyball. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her five children and spouses, Mark and Carol Peters of Grand Island, Gwen and Steve McMahan of Grand Island, Randy and Jan Peters of Loup City, Tina Thompson of Grand Island and Terri and Chris Townsend of St. Paul; 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Hank, she was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Helen Neal and Marie Krajewski.
