Rosary was recited Sunday evening at the Benton Funeral Home. Requiem Mass was Monday morning at the Immaculate Conception Church here with Msgr. John Regan officiating. Rosary was recited Sunday evening at the Benton Funeral Home. Requiem Mass was Monday morning at the Immaculate Conception Church here with Msgr. John Regan officiating. Burial was in Riverside cemetery. Carolina Gartel was born Dec. 25, 1880. She married Martin Wolf on Jan. 11, 1897. He passed away Sept. 11, 1958, having been married over 61 years at the time of his death. To this union 12 children were born, two of whom died in infancy. Mrs. Wolf came to Vibank, Saskatchewan, with her husband in 1902, where they homesteaded until coming to Fort Benton in 1913. They took out a homestead in the Marias-Dugout area about 40 miles northwest of Fort Benton, then in this county but now in Liberty. They farmed in the Shonkin area from 1923 to 1931, then in Pleasant Valley before moving into Fort Benton in 1934. Mrs. Wolf loved gardening always had a big garden until this past year. She had been ill for the past year and in the St. Clare hospital for 7-1/2 months. The following children survive: Martin Wolf, Jr., of Polson; John Wolf, of Fort Benton; Joseph Wolf, of Great Falls; Michael H. Wolf, of Havre; Emma Maloney, of Hot Springs, Calif.; Sister Mary Gabriel, of Glendive; Kate Eloff, of Fort Benton; Rose Albright, of Helena; Mary Thompson, of Great Falls; and Sylvia Waters, of Loma. Twenty-five grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews, survive here. The family has the sympathy of all in their loss.
