Eloff, 91, died Monday, Aug. 18, 1997, at a local hospital of natural causes. Funeral services will be held at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Fort Benton. Eloff, 91, died Monday, Aug. 18, 1997, at a local hospital of natural causes. Funeral services will be held at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Fort Benton. Burial will be in Riverside cemetery. Katherine was born Oct. 10, 1905, in Odessa, Saskatchewan, Canada, to Martin and Caroline Wolf. She came to Chouteau County when she was eight years old with her parents, who homesteaded 40 miles north of Fort Benton. She attended rural schools in Chouteau County. In 1923 she moved with her family to the Shonkin area for six years. She married Tom Eloff April 12, 1925. Mr. and Mrs. Eloff lived in Great Falls one year and then returned to Shonkin to farm. Later they moved to ranch the LaBarre bottom then returned to Pleasant Valley and farmed for many years until they retired and moved to Fort Benton. Mrs. Eloff was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and Altar Society, a charter member of Pleasant Valley Homemakers Club, a member of Henry W. Griesback Unit 26 of the American Legion Auxiliary, and Senior Citizens of Fort Benton. She served as a member of the U. S. Air Force Ground Observers Corp. She enjoyed fishing crocheting, crafts and gardening. Mrs. Eloff is survived by her son Larry and Mary Frances Eloff, a daughter, Mary and James Zanto, her grandchildren, Stephen Granger and Diane Goldhahn, whom she raised; three brothers, Joe Wolf, Great Falls, Michael Wolf, Calif., and John Wolf, Fort Benton; four sisters, Emma Ciaravino, Rose Rowe of Fort Benton, Mary Thompson, Great Falls, Sister Mary Gabriel, a retired nun in Davenport, Iowa; 22 grand and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, Angie, a brother Martin and a sister, Sylvia.
