Description	:	Wife of Charles E Dexter. Caroline Ashe Parker was the daughter of John Daniel (Dan) Parker and Frances (Fanny) Johnston. She is buried in the same plot with her parents and "in sight of the home in which her childhood was spent" per her October 11, 1913 death notice in The Monroe Journal. Her previously mentioned obituary states that she "died suddenly at her home at White Sulpher Springs, West Virginia". Caroline's brothers were well-known. John J. Parker, a lawyer who was Chief Justice of the U. S. 4th Circuit Court Appeals, was nominated for the Supreme Court by President Coolidge (lost by one vote). Samuel Iredell Parker was the first man in the history of the U. S. Army to receive three of the nation's highest awards: the Congressional Medal of Honor, the Distinguished Service Cross, and the Silver Star with the Oak Leaf Cluster.
