Description	:	The Tecumseh Chieftain, Dec. 26, 1940: "Mrs. Caroline Wilhelmine Eismann, who was born in Pawnee County December 31, 1867, and who had always lived in Pawnee and Johnson Counties, died in a Tecumseh hospital at 3:45 o'clock, a.m., on Friday, December 20, 1940. Death was due to a paralytic stroke suffered five days before. Mrs. Eismann was aged seventy-two years. eleven months and nineteen days. Death was due to a paralytic stroke suffered five days before. Mrs. Eismann was aged seventy-two years. eleven months and nineteen days. Caroline Kettelhake was a daughter of Ludwig and Caroline (Watermann) Kettelhake, both natives of Germany, and she was born when the family lived in Pawnee County. Her education was received in a parochial school. She was married to Carl Lange at St. Peter's' Lutheran church, southwest of Elk Creek, April 10, 1890, and her husband departed this life in Pawnee County December 15, 1892. Her second marriage was with Dietrich Eismann, at the same church, February 9, 1894, and Mr. Eismann passed away September 21, 1918. The five children orn to Mrs. Eismann are living, and they are William Lange of Lincoln, John Lange of Carleton, Henry and Herman Eismann of Elk Creek and Arthur Eismann of Arapahoe. There are two daughters-in-law, Mrs. John Lange and Mrs. Henry Eismann. Brothers and sisters to survive are Mrs. Sophie Kracke of Hope, Kans., Mrs. William Rinne of Elk Creek, Mrs. Mary Bredemeier of Phillipsburg, Kans., Mrs. Anna Fitz of Argonia, Kans., Henry and Herman Kettelhake of Steinauer, Mrs. Rose Bickel of Kansas City and Mrs. Emilie Schmidt of Lincoln. There are three brothers-in-law, three sisters-in-law, twelve grandchildren and one great grandchild, as well as many friends. Mrs. Eismann was baptized in the Lutheran church and confirmed at St. Peter's church on March 26, 1882. She had lived a consistent Christian life, and her greatest interests were in her home and her family, and she was considerate of her neighbors and other friends. The funeral was held at St. Peter's church at 1:30 o'clock, p.m., Sunday, with a good attendance of relatives and friends. The services were conducted by the pastor, Rev. Enno Schueke, and the interment was in the cemetery near the church."
