Read More	Carolyn Sue Armoto of Indianapolis was born on December 24, 1951 and passed away on July 21, 2020, at the age of 68. Her death was lovingly attended by John, her faithful husband of 49 years. Carolyn was a devoted wife, amazing mother, doting grandmother, loyal friend and sister, generous teacher, and an unwavering follower of Christ. Born in Portageville, Missouri to John Green and Luna Mae (Russell) Newsom, Carolyn was the youngest daughter in a family of nine children. Her family moved to Aurora, Illinois where she attended East Aurora High School and met her future husband, John, who wooed her with rides in his ‘63 Oldsmobile Dynamic. After graduating from East Aurora High, Carolyn briefly attended Gateway Bible College in St. Louis, Missouri. On June 19, 1971 John and Carolyn married and began to build a home and family together. Carolyn was a homemaker and apple pie baker, a bookkeeper and secret keeper, a pastor’s wife, piano player, and peanut brittle master. She was absolutely devoted to her three children, Becki, Jonathan, and JC, and they all adored her. After her youngest child went to kindergarten, she began working on a Bachelors in Science, eventually graduating from the University of Wisconsin- LaCrosse and becoming a teacher. She taught seventh and eighth grade students at Calvary Christian School for several years, and after that season ended, she was a substitute teacher in the Indianapolis Public School system for many more years. Her children all married and began presenting Carolyn with her greatest joys - Becki’s children, Adam and Nathan; Jonathan and Sarah’s children, Ethan, Logan, Evelyn, and Houston; and JC and Becky’s children, Dominic, Dante, and Giovanni. Carolyn loved her nine grandchildren wholeheartedly and did her best to spoil them rotten. Some might even say she succeeded. In 2010, Carolyn suffered a debilitating stroke, paralyzing her right side and making it very difficult for her to communicate. She spent one year in a nursing home before her dedicated husband moved heaven and earth to bring her home. He cared for her tirelessly for the rest of her life, with the help of a team of home health care nurses. Despite her difficulty in talking, she continued to love to sing, frequently and spontaneously bursting into song. In the end, her body faded, but the seeds that she sowed throughout her life continue to bloom. Carolyn was well known for her hilariously dry sense of humor, delicious no-bake cookies, and her willingness to support a fellow traveler in need. Slow to judgment and quick to give people the benefit of the doubt, Carolyn showed kindness to everyone she met. She preceded by her parents, her sisters Annie Wilson and Johnie Hutton, and her brothers Gene Newsom and Donald Joe Newsom. Her life is celebrated here on earth by her husband, her children and grandchildren, her sister Susie Fish, her brothers Paul Newsom, Wayne Newsom, and David Newsom, and hundreds of friends and fellow sojourners. Services entrusted to Shirley Brothers in Indianapolis, with burial at Dalton Cemetery in Holladay, Tennessee on Saturday, August 1, 2020.
