It was known for some time that her condition was serious, however, hopes were held by her relatives and friends that she might be permitted to regain her health and remain with them. Mrs. Kringen has been a resident of the Sherman vicinity since 1906, when she moved with her family from Minnesota. Carrie Brown was born Nov. 11, 1880, in Filmore County, Minnesota, near Lanseboro. Here she grew to womanhood and was confirmed in the Lutheran faith at North Prairie congregation. In 1911 she was united in marriage to Emeluis Kringen. To this union six children were born. One died in infancy. Surviving are her husband and children: Ethel (Mrs. Jacob Wolf) of Austin, Minn.; Sigrid (Mrs. Henry Bokker) Dell Rapids, S.D.; Gilbert of Sherman, S.D.; John of Santa Ava, Calif.; Jeliet (Mrs. Leland Murren) of Sioux Falls, S.D.; also three brothers, Neal Brown of Two Harbors, Minn., John Brown of Baltic, Ole Brown of Vernonica, Oregon, and four sisters, Mrs. Fred Johnson of Garretson, S.D., Mrs. J.A. Berdahl of Carson, N.D., Mrs. Henry Berdahl of Newcastle, Wyoming, Mrs. I.J. Johnson of San Jose, Calif.; and seventeen grandchildren. Her parents and one brother and one sister preceded her in death. She passed away Saturday, morning, August 18th, and was at the time of her death 70 years, 9 months and 7 days. Mrs. Kringen has always been a faithful member of the Lutheran church. She continued to find comfort in the Word of God up to the last. She reflected her faith in a spirit of cheerfulness at all times. Her memory will be blessed to the members of her family as well as to her many friends. Six weeks before her death Mr. and Mrs. Kringen celebrated their fortieth wedding anniversary with all their children present. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Norway Lutheran church with Rev. E. W. Rossing in charge, with her nephew Ellsworth Brown singing "Den Store Hvide Floke: and "Sleep Thy Last Sleep" Six nephew were her pallbearers.
