Description	:	Highland Recorder June 20, 1947 Mrs. Samuel H. Ralston died at her home, in Staunton, Sunday June 15, 11 a. m. She had been in failing health for three years. Carrie Ellen Mullenax, daughter of Henry and Elizabeth Calhoun Mullenax was born September 5, 1871, near Monterey, Virginia. She was married to Samuel Ralston on October 27, 1892. She is survived by her husband, one son, Charles H. Ralston; three brothers, A. D. Mullenax, Gambrills, Md., Walter Mullenax, and Aaron Mullenax, also a half brother, E. B. Wimer of Blue Grass. She had been in failing health for three years. Carrie Ellen Mullenax, daughter of Henry and Elizabeth Calhoun Mullenax was born September 5, 1871, near Monterey, Virginia. She was married to Samuel Ralston on October 27, 1892. She is survived by her husband, one son, Charles H. Ralston; three brothers, A. D. Mullenax, Gambrills, Md., Walter Mullenax, and Aaron Mullenax, also a half brother, E. B. Wimer of Blue Grass. A number of nieces and nephews survive. During the years Mr .and Mrs. Ralston lived in Blue Grass, they gave a home from time to time, to seven orphan children, to whom they were devoted. They had lived in Staunton for the past ten years. The body was taken to the Obaugh funeral parlor, McDowell, where it remained until one p. m. Tuesday, then it was moved to Central Methodist Church, Blue Grass, of which she had been a lifelong member. Funeral services were conducted there by the Rev Walter S. Thomas assisted by the Rev. R. O. Hipes, at 2:30 p. m. after which burial took place in Blue Grass Cemetery.
