Description	:	Carroll Roy Melton, age 91, of the Dysartsville Community in McDowell County, NC, died Friday, June 12, 2015 at his home. He was born December 31, 1923 in Buncombe County, NC to the late John Edwin Melton and Paralie McGuinn Melton. Mr. Melton was a veteran of the US Army Air Corp where he served during WWII in the China-Burma Theatre. He retired from Nationwide Insurance Co. after 30 years of service. Read More	Carroll Roy Melton, age 91, of the Dysartsville Community in McDowell County, NC, died Friday, June 12, 2015 at his home. He was born December 31, 1923 in Buncombe County, NC to the late John Edwin Melton and Paralie McGuinn Melton. Mr. Melton was a veteran of the US Army Air Corp where he served during WWII in the China-Burma Theatre. He retired from Nationwide Insurance Co. after 30 years of service. He was a dedicated Mason for over 59 years and a member of the Shrine Club for over 50 years. He was also a long time member of the Scottish Rite 33rd degree and of York Rite where he was the Past Grand High Priest for the state of NC. He was also a Past Master of Joppa Lodge in Old Fort, NC. In addition to his parents, Mr. Melton is also preceded in death by his wife, Harriette Anne Fox Melton and four brothers, Arthur, Maurice, Robert Bruce and James Norman Melton. Surviving Mr. Melton are one son, Carroll Roy Melton, Jr. and wife, Roxanne of Boca Raton, FL; one daughter, Susan Trent and husband, Michael of Yadkinville, NC; one grandson, Jason Ian Trent and fiancé, Brenda Mathis of Yadkinville, NC; and one great-grandson, Jason Ian Trent II. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 in McCall Memorial Chapel at Kirksey Funeral Home in Marion, NC. Burial will follow at Golden Valley Methodist Church Cemetery.
