To them were born nine children, four sons and five daughters. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Oakland, Independent January 24, 1908 Page 1 BUSY FATHER TIME FRED DAUBERT FALLS DEAD Intelligence received here Friday morning that Fred Daubert, a prominent and well-known farmer living just over the boundary line of Burt and Dodge counties, was dead. Mr. Daubert had just finished eating his breakfast and was reaching for his cap, when, without any outcry, or word, he droped dead to the floor. The family, believing he had fainted, carried him to it sofa and called up Dr. Sward, of Oakland, by telephone, who on examination, pronounced oil it a case of apoplexy, death being instantanious. Mr. Daubert had arisen in the morning as usual and had felt no pain or complained of feeling ill, and conversed with his family as usual, apparently as far from death as man could be. The deceased, Casper Ferderick Daubert, was born April 18, 1854, at Gumpelstadt, Salsugen, Herzog, Saxony, Germany. In 1864, together with his parents he emigrated to this country, settling first in Wisconsin. He came to Nebraska in 1872, followed by his parents a year later. They were among the early settlers of Logan township in Dodge County. He married Miss Margaret Kallenbach on January 29, 1877, and three years later they moved onto the place which has been the homestead of the family ever since. Nine children were born to this union, all living, viz.: Mrs. John Bengston, Frank, Mrs. Edwin Edelman, Mrs. H. 0. Kriebel, Frieda, Ada, Fred, Edward, and Roy. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the home and at the Elim Lutheran Church, Swaburg, Rev. Wupper, of the St. Pauls German Lutheran Curch, conducting the obsequies. The funeral was one of the most largely attended in that vicinity. Floral offerings were contributed by many friends and the lodge, of which he was a member, the A. O. U. W. of Oakland. Members of this lodge acted as pallbearers; viz.: Andrew Anderson, Rudolph Suhr, A. F. Swanson, Carl O. Johnson, Alf. Gustafson, Oscar Sampson. Mr. Daubert carred $2000 insurance in this lodge.
