She married Joseph Feld on February 15, 1876 in Troy Grove, IL. They were the parents of William, Joseph J., Henry J., Ed, Anna, and, Emma. March 1926 - Carroll times - Mrs. Joseph Feld passed away at her home early Monday morning, March 1, after being bedfast for two weeks. On February 15 of this year she and her husband fittingly observed their fiftieth wedding anniversary among their children and their relatives. While she was not well on that day she was able to get about and enjoyed the time immensely. Four years ago Mrs. Feld suffered a stroke of paralysis, from which she partially recovered. While she was able to be about the house she never fully regained her health and a dropsical condition of her system was responsible for her last illness and death. Mrs. Feld was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Kuempel and was born in Mendota, Illinois, September 5, 1850. Her marriage to Joseph Feld took place at Troy Grove, Illinois, February 15, 1876. She came to Carroll county as a bride, locating on the farm in Grant township, which her husbands had purchased three years earlier. In 1904 Mr. and Mrs. Feld moved to Carroll to their present home in the Fourth ward. Mrs. Feld was a delightful woman and a devout Christian mother. She was a member of the Rosary sodality of the S. S. Peter and Paul church, her interests centered around her home and the successful lives of her sons and daughters was a great consolation to her. Hers was the first death in the family circle. Besides the husband the survivors are the four sons and two daughters: William Feld, J. J. Feld, H. J. Feld and Ed Feld, Mrs. John Bedford and Anna Feld, all of Carroll. There are also 19 grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the S. S. Peter and Paul church this morning at 9 o'clock with a solemn requiem high mass. Rev. Fr. Schenkelberg was assisted by Rev. Fr Schiefem of Kansasville, Wis., and Rev. Fr. Feld of Semmimore, Wis. The four sons together with John Bedford and Joe Wiederin acted as pallbearers. This was at the wish of Mrs. Feld. The funeral was largely attended by relatives and friends of the deceased woman who was so highly respected and who was so deeply loved.
