Unfortunately, she was unconscious, and did not seem to realize their presence. The remains were brought to Robinson on Thursday last and the funeral held at Silver Creek church on Saturday January 23rd, 1915. Rev. Cooper of Masonville preached the funeral sermon and read the following obituary: 'Catherine Simpson was born in County Fermanagh, Ireland, May 10, 1848. In 1868 she immigrated to America, residing in Vermont for about one year before she came to Iowa, and has since made her home continuously in Delaware county until the time of her death, which occurred January 20th, 1915. She was married to Robert Robinson January 10th, 1871. To this union were born nine children, eight of whom survive to mourn the loss of a loving mother. Her husband preceded her to the spirit's home some eighteen years ago, having been called to his reward November 1, 1896. She has long been an earnest member of the Methodist church at Silver Creek. She was also a faithful member of the W.F.M.S. in which society she will be greatly missed, and a vacant chair will be noticed at its meetings. She was ever found to be a helpful neighbor and not a home in the community in which she has lived for more than two score years, but will ever remember her with loving gratitude for her kindly ministrations to them in their hour of need. She was ever a devoted and indulgent mother, and her children truly have cause for deep sorrow. In this they have the sincere and heartfelt sympathy of a host of friends and relatives. Her death comes as a shock to all. In December she had gone to spend some time with her daughter in Minnesota. She was stricken while there with apaplexy, which resulted in her death. Left to revere her memory and mourn her departure are the following children: James A. Robinson, Mrs. Mary Reinburg, Mrs. Rebecca Reinburg, Henry S. Robinson, William Robinson, Iowa; Mrs. Etta Wade of Farmington, Minnesota; and Robert Robinson of Tintah, Minnesota. The music was furnished by a choir from Sand Creek, consisting of Misses Mary Annis, Grace Annis and Miss Mattson, and Messrs. Thomas and John Kennedy. Besides the children mentioned in the obituary Mrs. Robinson leaves twenty-seven grandchildren. Robert Robinson of Tintah would have been present but the train was blockaded and he could not get through. There were present from out of town the following: Mr. and Mrs. Fred Wade and family, of Farmington, Minnesota; Robert Robinson of Shaller, Iowa; W. S. Logan and sons Henry and John, of Manchester; Mrs. Laning, of Independence; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Mulligan, Mr. and Mrs. George Logan, Mr. and Mrs. George Cowell, of Manchester; Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Logan, Mr. and Mrs. Mert Main and Mrs. Swan, of Coggon; Mr. and Mrs. Carl Emerson, of Central City; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Farrell, of Winthrop; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Ryan, of Golden; Albert Todd of Coggon.
