Robinson Robert B. son of Robert and Catherine Robinson was born on May 18, 1880, in Delaware County, near Ryan, Iowa. There he attended school, and joined the Silver Creek Methodist Church. At eighteen years of age he joined the Modern Woodman of America. Later on he came to the western part of the state to get work. On February 8, 1912, he married Annie Buck of Schaller, Iowa. They went back to Delaware County for the first year; then they moved to Travers County, Minnesota, where they lived for four years. Late in 1916 they moved back to the vicinity of Schaller, which has been home to them since that time. For the past sixteen years they have lived in Cook Township, moving only a year ago to the Hammond place two miles south of town. Six children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Robinson: Robert, serving with the Army in Alaska; Mrs. Hope Wade of Manchester, Iowa; Mrs. Sadie Freese of Bay City, Michigan; Mrs. Annie Laurie Roeder, Charles R., and Mrs. Blanche Pfrimmer all living in the vicinity of Schaller. For several years Mr. Robinson has suffered poor health. He was especially bad a little over a year ago but he has been some better during the winter. Friday night February 18, 1944, he was taken with a sudden heart attack and died within a short time. Besides his wife and children, he leaves two brothers: Henry of Cedar Rapids, and William of Manchester - James dying just two years ago; four sisters: Mrs. Mary Rainbird and Miss Maggie Robinson of Cedar Rapids; Mrs. Rebecca Rainbird and Mrs. Esther (Ettie) Wade of Ryan. There are four grandchildren: Harlan and Marianne Roeder, Roger Wade, and Gary Pfrimmer; with other more distant relatives and many friends. The funeral service was Tuesday afternoon at the Presbyterian Church (two-thirty o'clock), Rev. Moore Bell preaching. W.F. McLaughlin, Mr. Bell, A.W. Corderman, and Bruce McQuigg were the male quartet, singing "That Beautiful Land", "The Wayside Cross" and "We are Going Down the Valley". Mrs. U.G. Pedersen accompanied the singing, and Mrs. J.H. Feldhans played the organ music. George S. Knowles Funeral Home made the arrangements, with burial in the Schaller Cemetery. Pall-bearers were as follows: John Clansen, Archie Hartman, Almer Alderson, Fred Bernhardt, Lester Walker, Elmer Birkhofer.
