Description	:	Catherine Walters was born in Carrollton, Greene County, Illinois, on November 23, 1853, to Henry B. and Mary Kemper Walters. Catherine was the second of their eleven children. At age 26 (December 16, 1879) she married Herman John Schepers and they had six children: three (Barney, Walter and Elizabeth) were born in Carrollton, Illinois; and three (Susie, George and Clarence) were born after moving to Shelton, Nebraska, in 1886. She died of typhoid fever in the epidemic of 1899, at her home northwest of Shelton on October 9, 1899. She lived 45 years, 10... Read More	Catherine Walters was born in Carrollton, Greene County, Illinois, on November 23, 1853, to Henry B. and Mary Kemper Walters. Catherine was the second of their eleven children. At age 26 (December 16, 1879) she married Herman John Schepers and they had six children: three (Barney, Walter and Elizabeth) were born in Carrollton, Illinois; and three (Susie, George and Clarence) were born after moving to Shelton, Nebraska, in 1886. She died of typhoid fever in the epidemic of 1899, at her home northwest of Shelton on October 9, 1899. She lived 45 years, 10 months and 15 days upon the earth, and the light of judgment alone will reveal what she was enabled to accomplish for her Master during this short time. She was a member of the United Brethren church and will be greatly missed not only by the bereaved relatives but by her church, and the neighborhood in which she lived which will mourn the loss so valiant of a Christian worker and faithful, sympathetic neighbor. Five of her children, her husband Herman, six sisters and two brothers now survive her. They have the sympathy of all in their affliction.
