Read More	Cecil Lawrence Barry 1975 Bridgewater Bulletin Relatives and a host of friends were shocked and saddened to learn of the sudden passing of Cecil Lawrence Barry who passed peacefully away while working in his basement workshop at his home in Whynacht's Settlement, on Monday, March 10, 1975. He was sixty-two years of age. He was an employee with the Canadian National Railway for twenty-nine years and will be remembered by many as the crossing watchman at the CN crossing in Bridgewater, before the present lights were installed. Since his retirement in 1970 he spent every day in his workshop. His love of woodworking gave him the ability to create anything from wood, and his creations have been given to, or purchased by friends all over North America. His absence will be very keenly felt. He was the son of Mrs. Muriel Barry and the late Archibald K. Barry of Maitland. His first wife, (Helen Seamone) predeceased him in 1957. Left to mourn his passing besides his aged mother, are his loving wife, Marie (Ernst-Hiltz); two stepsons, David Hiltz of Dartmouth and Robert Hiltz of Jordan Falls, Shelburne County; four grandchildren, Dawnica, Shawn, Vickie, and Christopher; three sisters,Helen (Mrs. Archie Seamone; Nellie (Mrs. Donald Feindel), both of Bridgewater; Isabel (Mrs. Ray Barry), of Maitland; six brothers, George of Skagway, Alaska;Henry, Marriotts Cove; Sidney, Maitland; Eric, Blockhouse; Kenneth, Maitland; and Lloyd, Prince Albert, Sask.; and many nieces and nephews. Christ Anglican Church in Maitland was filled to capacity for the funeral service on Thursday, March 13, conducted by the Rev. Wm. Dye. Members of the Junior and Senior Choirs led in singing the hymns, "Brief Life is Here Our Portion" and " God Moves in a Mysterious Way," accompanied by the church organist. The pallbearers were Messrs. Henry, Sidney, Eric, Kenneth, and Lloyd Barry, brothers of the deceased, and Henry Sorette, a close family friend. Interment took place in Brookside Cemetery, Bridgewater. Cecil L. Barry 1975 Halifax Herald Whynott's Settlement- Cecil L. Barry, 62, died yesterday at home. Formerly of Bridgewater, he was born in Maitland, a son of Muriel and the late Archibald Barry. He is survived by his mother and his wife, Marie; and six brothers, George, Skagway, Alaska; Henry, Marriott's Cove; Sidney, Maitland; Eric, Blockhouse; Kenneth, Maitland; Lloyd, Prince Albert, Saskatchewan; three sisters, Helen (Mrs. Archie Seamone) and Nellie (Mrs.Donald Feindel), both of Bridgewater; Isobel (Mrs. Roy Barry), Maitland. He was predeceased by his first wife, Helen. The body is at Sweeny's Funeral Home, Bridgewater. Funeral service will be held 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Christ Anglican church, Maitland, Rev.William Dye officiating. Interment will be at Brookside Cemetery, Bridgewater.
