Hospital in Lunenburg on January 14. Ken's courage and determination was an inspiration to his doctor and nurses and all who ministered to him throughout his ordeal. He bore his suffering with patience and a smile. He was a bachelor and was 56 years of age. During his young adult life he engaged in farming with his father. He later became a carpenter and his last employment was with National Sea Products in Lunenburg. Always active in sports and in his church and community life, he was a Warden for Christ Church for many years; Sunday School Superintendent for more than fifteen consecutive years during the 50's and early 60's; a valued member of the Maitland and District Volunteer Fire Department and Christ Church Choir. He served his country in the Canadian Army Medical Corps during the Second World War. His absence will be very keenly felt by a host of friends and relatives. Born in Maitland on November 11, 1924, he was the son of Mrs. Muriel Barry and the late Archibald Barry. Besides his aged mother, he is survived by three sisters, Helen (Mrs. Archie Seamone) and Nellie (Mrs. Donald Feindel), both of Bridgewater; Isabel (Mrs. Ray Barry), of Maitland; three brothers, Henry of Marriott's Cove; Sidney of Maitland; and Lloyd of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan and many nieces and nephews. Besides his father, he was predeceased by three brothers, George, Cecil, and Eric and two infant sisters. With thanks to Rosemary Rafuse.
