Her obituary will appear in our next issue. A number of relatives from this place were up to attend the funeral. Peterson of Burnside township whose sad death was chronicled in this paper last week, was born on the old homestead of Andrew Peterson west of Dayton, February 16, 1870. She was one of a family of six children. Her father Andrew Peterson died when the subject of this sketch was but five years old. Her education was such as the mother could afford to give, namely a common school education of this town. In 1884 she joined the Swedish Lutheran church of this place by confirmation, being one of a class of thirteen, Rev. C.A. Hemborg being her pastor. February 6th, 1890 she was married to J.A. Peterson of Burnside Township, this union was blessed by nine children, five sons and four daughters, the youngest a daughter about six weeks of age, was born on the 17th of January, the same day that Mrs. Peterson's mother died. The news of her mother's death was a severe shock to her, but she bore up bravely. About a week after her mother's death she took a severe cold which developed into pneumonia, which so weakened her heart that even with the best medical skill and nursing could not be successfully combatted and her spirit passed to the Great Beyond on the morning of February 23rd last. She was conscious to the last, and just before passing called the children about her bed and kissed them. Her last words being "The blood of Jesus cleanseth me from all my sins," and then to the heartbroken husband she said, "Meet me in Heaven." Her funeral was held on Wednesday from the Burnside Lutheran church, Rev. Newman, assisted by Rev. Kron of Dayton conducted the services, and her remains laid to rest in Dayton cemetery.
