JUDITH CELYBDA GRNADY was born in St. Lawrence County, New York, Sept 20th 1823, Died April 17, 1897, at her late home near West Liberty, Iowa, in her 72nd year. She received the most of her education in the public schools and devoted several years of her early life to educational work. She was married to PLINY NICHOLSs July 8, 1846, at Cardington, Morrow County, Ohio, where they made their home until 1856. They then moved to Iowa and settled on the farm which has since been their home. Seven children have been born of this union, five of whom are now living. ANN L., now the wife of N.C. TARLETON, of Blair, Neb., GEORGE S.; BENJAMIN A; WILLIAM P; and LINNIE D., now the wife of C.P. GIBSON, all of West Liberty, Iowa. In spirit she was gentle, kind and benevolent, a true friend to the needy, the sick and the afflicted, a devoted wife and mother. She was for many years a member of the M.P. Church of South Prairie, where her presence was always a benediction. The last three years of her life she suffered greatly, but was patient through it all. She often wished that she could go Home and be at rest. To her, Death was a welcome messenger of peace. Rev. Walley of Downey, conducted the funeral services at the South Prairie church, Monday at 11 a.m.
